  • November 15th, 2004 - Internext Media Corp. Acquires Searchwho.com - Internext Media Corp. (ABCSearch.com), the world's largest privately held meta-search engine based in Encino, California, has officially acquired Searchwho.com. We look forward to an exciting new year for Searchwho in 2005.


  • July 2003 - Solara Handles 100 Million Documents <0.25 seconds - In recent test of 100K random unique multi-word queries Solara was able to search through 100,000,000 documents and return results within 0.25 seconds over 80% of the time. Solara is our global web walking full-text search engine. The Solara project began in the fall of 2001 and is currently scheduled for public launch in early 2004. The public launch will be built on a server cluster consisting of over a billion web pages.


  • February 2003 - NewsDigger.com - This month marks the launch of a search engine project specifically focused on news. NewsDigger continually crawls the internet for news headlines and stories consolidating these into various categories like sports, business, technology, etc. Feel free to visit and also take advantage of the free javascript plugin that will allow you add news headlines to your web site in just minutes.

  • April 2002, Server Upgrade - This month we were happy to complete several new server upgrades.Shown here on the right is one of our new development clusters that is now online to help support our expanding affiliate programme. We're definitely big fans of Compaq servers as some of you might can tell from the picture.


  • February 2002, ABCSearch.com - Looking for high performance, scalability, and customizable metasearch technology, ABCSearch.com contacted Searchwho. Through consulting services and licensing of the public version of our industrial strength metasearch software, a custom solution was in place on their servers in just over a week.



  • January 2002, N3Labs - In an effort to bring back more of Searchwho's old portal look & feel, we will soon be moving ourtechnology development services over to our new home, N3Labs.


  • December 2001, DrivingPoint.com - We've recently launched a new site calledDrivingPoint.com that is a search engine specifically targeted towards the automotiveindustry. Our local full-text search database for this project is spidered from a list of various automotive sites grouped into several distinct categories (magazines, goverment, manufacturers, etc.).



  • November 2001, BigNewsNetwork.com - Mainstream Capital of Australia acquires our news portal site, BigNewsNetwork.com.


  • September 2001, Solara Project - Work has begun on an entirely new full-text search engine presently named Solara. Although very different from the metacrawler technology of the Searchwho project, it will likewise be completely scalable and will hopefully rival other prominent search engine sites in terms of speed andrelevant results. Keep checking our news for later developments or beta releases of Solara.


  • August 2001, New Javascript Web Search Plugin- Just released for beta. JSearch is a new javascript plugin that will enable webmasters of small sites toeasily add the power of Searchwho to their site. The new plugin allows them to create a search engine with numerous search types and with ahigh level of control over the HTML.

  • June 2001, Cobrand Upgrade, Email & Printer Friendly Pages - Most of the search resultpages now allow for viewing of a more printer friendly page as well as emailing of results. Also, we will soon be offering an entirely new cobrand/partner interface. The new interface is simple enough for the novice but alsoallows a great deal of flexibility for the advanced webmaster. We hope to put the new partner interface onlinein the next several weeks.


  • May 2001, Improved Sort Features - All of the result page sort features have been upgraded. A verymuch improved aggregation processor is now online.


  • April 2001, New Architecture - Out with the old and in with the new! The entire backend searcharchitecture has been re-written. All of the searches on the site, especially the web search, are now muchfaster with the latest design. Our core architecture now consists of Oracle, Perl, and Linux. Over thenext few months we expect to implement a variety of new features and searches.


  • March 2001, Data Center Change - This month we moved a few of our public servers from Dallas toAtlanta. In addition, we've also dumped Windows/NT in favor of Linux for the increased speed and stability.Thus far, Linux performance has far exceeded that of the NT machines.
